MAXABASE — Solid Grid Technology

A Product of We Build Your Shop

Interlocking diamond-grid panels made from 100% recycled polypropylene. Clip, fill with concrete or gravel, and turn soft or shifting ground into a hard-working surface — shop floors, driveways, roads, parking lots, golf paths and more. Same strength, a fraction of the concrete.

Applications

One grid.
Any ground.

Fill it with concrete for a smooth, hard floor. Fill it with gravel for a permeable, mud-free surface. Either way, the diamond cells lock the fill in place so it can't rut, ravel or wash out.

Shop & Warehouse Floors

Power-trowel smooth, forklift-ready, and coatable with epoxy for a showroom finish. This completed warehouse floor will hold 1,200 tonnes.

Driveways

A clean, firm, free-draining driveway with no ruts, no potholes and no spring breakup mess. Gravel stays exactly where you put it.

Parking Lots & Hardstands

Industrial pavements, equipment yards, truck parking and laydown areas — engineered for real axle loads, not just foot traffic.

Golf Courses & Greens

Cart paths, tee lanes and walkways that stay firm in any weather and drain right through — gentle on the turf and landscape around them.

MAXABASE grid walkways between camp buildingsRemote Sites

Camps & Remote Sites

Mud-free walkways and pads between site trailers and camp buildings. Light to freight, fast to lay, and it works with local fill material.

Barns, Stables & Yards

Stall floors, alleys, livestock pens and high-traffic gate areas that stay dry and stable underfoot — easy on hooves, easy to clean.

Roadways & Laneways

Farm lanes, yard roads, approaches and crossovers. The grid confines the aggregate so it resists the ravelling and corrugation that wreck unsealed roads.

Drainage & Permeable Surfaces

Filled with clean stone, the pavement itself becomes a drain — perfect for low-speed lots and runoff-sensitive areas.

Mining & Haul Roads

Stabilised haul roads, access tracks and laydown pads that carry heavy plant and truck traffic over soft or wet ground.

Equestrian & Riding Arenas

A firm, level, free-draining base for riding arenas and barn aisles — no soft spots and no churned-up footing.

Walking Trails & Parks

Firm, accessible trails and park paths that drain naturally and blend into green space without paving it over.

How It Works

Prep. Clip. Fill.

MAXABASE replaces the wearing course of a pavement. It goes down over a properly prepared base, locks together with integral snap-fit clips, and takes whatever fill the job calls for.

MAXABASE panels laid out on a prepared compacted base
Step 1 — Prepare

Build the base

Grade and compact a granular base sized to your traffic and soil, like any flexible pavement. We design it to the ground you've actually got.

Field of MAXABASE panels clipped together across a roadway
Step 2 — Clip

Lay & lock the grid

Panels snap together with integral self-locking clips into one continuous mat. Loaded trucks can drive on the empty grid while you work.

Granular fill being spread into MAXABASE cells
Step 3 — Fill

Concrete or gravel

Pour 20 MPa concrete for a hard floor, or spread granular fill for a permeable surface. The diamond cells confine the fill for good.

Engineering

Independently Tested

Tested. Not just claimed.

The grid has been put through independent flexural and compressive testing at a university composites lab, plus an independent pavement engineering review with full-scale Falling Weight Deflectometer testing on a working truck stop.

It doesn't fatigue

Unlike asphalt, the grid is not subject to fatigue cracking — it conforms to the base and keeps working. Field analysis found that a continuous 1.6 in concrete slab on the same base would crack under a single truck pass.

Drive on it empty

Compression testing showed a 4.9× safety factor on unfilled cells under every legal highway axle load — so fill trucks can run directly on the bare grid during construction.

Cast-in-place paver action

Concrete-filled, it behaves like brick paving cast in place: thousands of small interlocked concrete blocks separated by 0.12 in polypropylene walls — without the labour of laying pavers.

Sustainability

Built from recycled plastic.
Easy on the footprint.

In an independent comparison of equivalent pavements, the grid-based build produced roughly a third of the greenhouse gas emissions of a conventional reinforced concrete pavement.

Conventional concrete pavementbound subbase + 8.1 in reinforced concrete
99.7 kg CO₂e/m²
MAXABASE grid pavementgranular base + 1.6 in concrete-filled grid
28.7 kg CO₂e/m²

Comparison from independent pavement engineering analysis of two designs carrying the same design traffic.

Second life for plastic

Every panel is made from 100% recycled polypropylene — plastic put back to work instead of sent to landfill.

Less cement, less CO₂

Cement production accounts for roughly 7% of global emissions. Cutting concrete up to 60% or more cuts that footprint with it.

Rain goes where it should

Permeable fills let water drain straight through the surface — less runoff, less pooling, less erosion around your site.

Built to stay put

No fatigue cracking and no full-slab tear-outs down the road — a long service life means fewer materials used twice.
